Evonik rolled out a full-scope OMP Planning System to provide end-to-end visibility in the supply chain of their Business Line Performance Intermediates in Marl (Germany) and Antwerp (Belgium). OMP is now the supply chain system of record and is seamlessly connected to the Evonik SAP ERP system.

The implementation of OMP enables an end-to-end economical optimization of the integrated chemical value chains at both locations. This does not only result in an optimized usage of production and distribution capacity, it also provides a plan with maximized contribution margin and allows what-if scenario planning.

As such, OMP facilitates a demand-driven, profitable supply response across the entire extended network. The integration of Demand Planning, S&OP and Operational Planning and Scheduling, allows for synchronized planning decisions on one single platform that creates value across the complete planning horizon.

To make these decisions, OMP deals with Evonik’s highly complex continuous chemical production processes with multi-stage variable bills of materials depending on the actual composition of the input products.
