OMP supports Natura Cosmetics in boosting manufacturing productivity and service quality

Brazilian cosmetics group Natura has implemented OMP for Operational Planning / Scheduling at all four of its plants. As part of the Natura Industry 4.0 program, the project focused on data harmonization with SAP and Plantsuite - MES (manufacturing execution systems). The implementation is leading to significant increases in plant productivity and service quality while optimizing costs end-to-end.

Unison Planning™ was put in place to streamline operational planning and scheduling in three São Paulo plants as well as the Ecoparque plant in the northern Brazilian state of Pará.

The planning solution is powered by a digital twin of Natura’s production processes. It allows the multinational to organize the sourcing and preparation of raw materials, bulk production and packaging in a standardized, integrated way aimed at minimizing inventory and changeovers while assuring that delivery promises are kept. Plans are driven by Unison Planning's AI engines and checked for feasibility, considering all the production constraints simultaneously. This leaves planners free to concentrate on handling the exceptions requiring special attention.
