OMP Certification Program

General information

Why?

At OMP, quality is the key driver of our success. The OMP Certification Program provides a structured approach to Unison Planning™ training, with clearly defined curriculums aligned to specific areas of expertise. By completing the defined trainings, developing and applying Unison Planning™ skills, and passing the required assessments, participants receive an OMP certificate confirming their readiness to take on an active role within a Customer Center of Excellence (CoE) or contribute to Unison Planning™ projects as an OMP alliance consultant. The program is designed around three core aspects: scalability, quality assurance, and ownership. This ensures that our high standards are maintained across all customer projects.

Representatives of the Alliance Partners and Customer CoEs are eligible to apply for these certificates.

Who?

Your OMP contact is your primary point of contact for all questions related to the OMP Certification Program. For OMP customers, this is typically your Project or Account Manager. If you are an alliance partner representative, this is the OMP Alliance Manager.

The training manager within your organization is your starting point for the certification journey. This person can help determine your eligibility for the program and initiate the required steps to get started. The training manager can coordinate with the OMP contact to identify the most suitable certification path and align on next steps.

OMP certification program

What?

The OMP Certification Program is structured around certification levels that combine three components: badges, pins, and experience levels.

A certification path progresses through several stages:

OMP Certification Program stages

Each certification (badge–pin combination) is valid for three years from the date of award.

You will receive an automatic reminder to renew or upgrade your certification when it is about to expire.

Training program

For the Basic and Stage 1 levels of the certification program, a dedicated training path is available. The program is updated regularly to reflect evolving requirements and enhancements.

Knowledge validation by assessments

Assessments are a crucial aspect of the training program, designed to evaluate how well participants apply course material.

Every assessment is structured to ensure that key learning objectives are met, helping participants identify areas of strength and opportunities for further improvement. Each participant must successfully complete an assessment (and corresponding training track) to be awarded certification. Below, you will find an overview of what to expect at each stage.

Knowledge validation by assessments

Basic / Stage 1

Format & duration

Assessments evaluate the theoretical and practical knowledge gained from prerequisite training. Depending on the topic and content, an assessment typically takes approximately half a day and is delivered in a virtual classroom format. Teacher assistance is limited but available, and a dummy environment can be provided if needed.

Upon enrollment, you will receive detailed information for each assessment, such as the passing grade or how to access the assessment.

How to prepare

Preparation includes reviewing the training materials/slides from prerequisite trainings. Every participant will be given the opportunity to practice in a training environment before the assessment.

Stage 2 / Stage 3

Format & duration

Assessments evaluate the participants’ acquired practical experience through exercises.

Depending on the topic and content, an assessment typically takes between half a day and a full day and is delivered in a virtual classroom format with teacher interaction. Upon enrollment, you will receive detailed information for each assessment.

How to prepare

Preparation for the Stage 2 and Stage 3 assessments depends on several factors, including the specific assessment a participant wants to complete. The structure, format, and requirements of these assessments can vary significantly.

In addition, the level of preparation required will differ depending on a participant’s prior experience.

Before enrolling in an assessment, information will be provided on what competencies will be evaluated and what the general format of the assessment will look like. This allows participants to better understand what to expect and to prepare in a way that best suits their experience and the specific requirements of the assessment.

Before attempting an assessment, participants are always requested to accept the OMP integrity disclaimer:

During the assessment process, participants must answer questions independently, with no assistance or advice from any person, or by any other means, except through training material or other official OMP documentation. Participants may not make copies of assessment content, nor share information with anyone about the content (e.g., question text or solutions). If a participant does not adhere to these conditions, OMP reserves the right to suspend the participant for six months, or disqualify the participant, from the OMP Certification Program. OMP may also apply any other actions deemed appropriate.
