Key takeaways from Kraft Heinz, Braskem, and Tenaris at OMP Conference São Paulo 2026

On April 16, OMP brought together supply chain executives, technology innovators, and strategic partners in São Paulo for a full day of honest conversation about what AI-powered planning looks like in practice. Under the theme ‘REAL – Real expertise. Real solutions. Real results.’, the OMP REAL Conference 2026 showcased how AI-powered planning, decision-centric approaches, and human–AI collaboration are delivering measurable impact across Latin America's most complex supply chains.

Real transformation stories from three industry leaders

The highlight of the day was hearing directly from Kraft Heinz, Braskem, and Tenaris. Three companies at different stages of their planning transformation, each sharing how they are getting real value from OMP’s Unison Planning™.

Thiago Serra Kraft HeinzKraft Heinz, the global food and beverage company, showed what it looks like when AI planning moves beyond individual tasks and starts shaping how the entire business makes decisions. By connecting planning end to end and combining AI-enabled optimization, real-time scenario planning, and touchless execution, they're driving stronger cross-functional alignment and more consistent, data-driven decisions at scale. The results are tangible:

“As touchless planning expands from scheduling to replenishment, we now maintain over 80% of our inventory within target limits, while reducing total inventory by approximately $90 million year over year and lowering waste by around 5%.”
Thiago Serra, Head of Integrated Business Planning at Kraft Heinz

Marcelo Fornereto Braskem Braskem, one of the world's largest petrochemical companies, highlighted that transformation is a journey, not a destination. Having completed a large-scale planning rollout, they will scale AI-driven planning across a highly complex environment, pushing toward more advanced capabilities to improve responsiveness and sharpen decision-making across the organization.

“Operating in a highly complex environment with more than 100 million data points, we rely on scenario-driven planning to evaluate options faster and align decisions within the organization.”
Marcelo Fornereto, S&OP Director at Braskem

Marcelo Fabian Sanchez TenarisTenaris, the global manufacturer of steel pipes for the energy industry, made a compelling case for why user adoption deserves as much attention as the technology itself. Training isn't an afterthought in their organization; it's a strategic investment, embedded through Tenaris University and continuous learning programs. The results speak for themselves: 40% stock reduction, 20% less WIP, and 50% less pipe left behind.

“Real value comes when planners are empowered to use the system independently, adapt to change, and make better decisions every day. That's what we've built at Tenaris.”
Marcelo Fabián Sánchez, Senior Director Operational Planning IT at Tenaris

Human expertise meets explainable AI

Keynote speaker Andrea Iorio, former CEO of Tinder Latin America and Chief Digital Officer at L'Oréal, set the tone by focusing not on AI capabilities, but on the human skills needed to lead alongside them. It's a shift that's showing up in how supply chain leaders talk about their priorities.

OMP CEO Paul Vanvuchelen captured it well: "Supply chain leaders today are not looking for more data, they are looking for better decisions. By combining human expertise with AI-driven insights, organizations can increase their decision velocity and respond to change with confidence.”

Decision-centric, always-on planning

Decision-centric, always-on planningThat same shift was visible throughout the breakout sessions, roundtables, and live demos of OMP Unison Planning. The focus was not on individual features, but on how planning is evolving in practice.

From always-on agents enabling more autonomous, touchless decision-making, to explainable AI helping planners understand and trust recommendations, and decision-centric planning connecting decisions end to end, the message was consistent. The future of demand and supply planning is becoming more intuitive, more collaborative, and better aligned with how decisions are made in the real world.

Building momentum in Latin America

The São Paulo conference made one thing clear: advanced planning in Latin America is accelerating, with a growing community of leaders actively investing in AI, integrated planning, and faster, more confident decision-making. The energy is shifting from "should we invest in AI planning?" to "how do we scale impact and unlock value faster?"
